Decadent Asylum is an experimental fairy tale in eight parts. A mundane doorman is transported through a broken door that leads him to metaphysical dimensions where he his put through practices of self alchemy.
Amir is a motion picture artist and film curator from Chicago. His film and video work has been screened in festivals and galleries across the US, Canada, and Europe.
In addition to founding Cinema Culture, a grassroots film programming organization, he is also the co-curator of Black Radical Imagination an experimental short film program, that was featured in Best of 2013 issue of Art Forum. Amir currently teaches and produces media with youth throughout Chicagoland and lectures at cultural centers and academic institutions nationwide.
