Help in is on the horizon for citizens anxious about what the future holds. On Tuesday, April 14 at 8 PM, High Concept Labs is pleased to welcome one of New Zealand’s most innovative theatre companies, Binge Culture, as they present their acclaimed interactive performance For Your Future Guidance. An interactive performance in the form of a self-help seminar, For Your Future Guidance will give you the skills you need to predict the future and the knowledge to survive in the coming decades.

In the near future, anthropogenic extinction, financial collapse, overpopulation, catastrophic climate change, visits from extended family, large-scale volcanism, and global pandemics, are all credible scenarios. Leading futurist experts and practitioners, Binge Culture, give you the skills and knowledge to survive this little known but widespread condition, “future tension”.

“Fear of the unknown can be crippling,” says Performer and co-creator Joel Baxendale. “We clear this up and offer a rare glimpse of certainty. It’s an entry-level course so participants don’t need any prior skills or training.” Baxendale adds that the course is “world famous in New Zealand”.

Binge Culture are an award-winning experimental theatre company from Wellington, New Zealand. They formed in 2008 and are always looking for ways to make the most of the live experience, and to create a vital role and place for the audience. Binge Culture’s shows are theatrical experiments that push conventions and are also meant to be accessible. The performers take a familiar and easily recognizable situation, then subvert it. This allows the audience to participate in a way that is structured yet open.
