Puppet artist and designer Tom Lee will lead a hands-on workshop in puppet manipulation inspired by the Japanese traditions that have shaped his work. Participants will have an opportunity to explore how a three person team brings a single puppet figure to life through breath, fixed points and listening. No experience is necessary but participants should be prepared to move.
Mr. Lee has appeared as a puppeteer in War Horse at Lincoln Center Theatre and Madama Butterfly at the Metropolitan Opera, in addition to extensive work in Japan with his mentor, Koryu Nishikawa V. Tom Lee and Lisa Gonzales are Sponsored Artists this Fall at HCL. More info at tomleeprojects.com
